Our Governors are the strategic leaders of our school and play a vital role in making sure all our children receive the best possible education. Their three core functions are :

  1. ensuring clarity of vision, ethos & strategic direction

  2. holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

  3. overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

In September 2013, Childer Thornton's Governing Body re-constituted under the new regulations, School Governance (Constitution) (England) 2012. The four compulsory categories of governor are: parents, staff, local authority and co-opted. We are also able to appoint associate members.

Our Chair of Governors is Simon Grove and he can be contacted via the school.
